MILWAUKEE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- If you’re doing any spring cleaning this weekend, you can get rid of any hazardous materials free of charge.
Milwaukee County’s Hazmat Collection is at a new location on the south side of State Fair Park.
You can drop off any kinds of hazardous waste like paint, fertilizers, pesticides, household cleaners, and rechargeable batteries.
Hazmat crews collect the materials and dispose of them properly.

“There’s a lot of different products that have unique hazards, things such as flammables, we’ll consolidate and use them as a secondary fuel.
Residents of Milwaukee County can drop off items from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 7. There are also three facilities open year-round in Milwaukee County. Those facilities are in Milwaukee, Franklin, and Menomonee Falls.
For a list of things you can and cannot drop off, locations, and hours, go to www.mmsd.com.
