MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A fundraiser held Sunday for the family of A'Lisa and Amea Gee raised $2,000, according to organizers.
The fundraiser was held at the Project Hope Youth Center near 32nd and Brown from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Meals were available for $10 a plate.
"My heart just goes out for that mom. I have three daughters of my own and if I were to lose two of them at the same, one of them, but two, it’s just so heartbreaking," said Rita Lee, founder of New Hope Youth and Family Services.
Lee organized the fundraiser.
"I’m hoping that this money can help her. I know it’s not going to make feel better but at least it can help her with things they need or funeral costs," she said.
A Go Fund Me page has also been set up to help the family of Amea and A'Lisa.
