Gov. Evers celebrates Teacher Appreciation Week

MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Gov. Tony Evers marked Teacher Appreciation Week by sharing a video message with Wisconsinites on Tuesday, May 7, celebrating the role of educators.

He proclaimed May 6 through May 10 as Teacher Appreciation Week in Wisconsin, highlighting the dedication of teachers statewide.

In his message, Evers noted, “I know firsthand that there’s no limit to the lengths our educators and staff will go to help kids be their best selves both in and out of the classroom.” He also expressed gratitude to teachers, emphasizing, “In my book, you are heroes -- not just to me, but to the kids, loved ones and families you help support.”

Evers also voiced a commitment to providing resources for educators, saying, “As governor, a big part of my job is supporting you and your good work.”
