Green Bay Packers to honor American Red Cross at annual 'Give Back Game' 🏈
GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Green Bay Packers announced in a Tuesday, Aug. 1 press release that they will honor the American Red Cross at their third annual "Packers Give Back Game," set for Saturday, Aug. 26.
The recognition is due to the nonprofit's sustained commitment to disaster relief, blood drives, veteran support and lifesaving skills training within the Wisconsin community.
The preseason game against Seattle will emphasize the work of the Red Cross and promote its mission before and throughout the game. A number of Red Cross volunteers will be spotlighted on the field prior to kickoff, and hundreds more, along with their guests, are expected to enjoy a free bus ride to the game, meal gift cards and access to a designated area in the north end zone.
In addition, fans can expect to learn about the Red Cross's critical work along the Fan Walkway and in Titletown before the game, and at halftime will hear about the importance of Hands-Only CPR.
"Volunteers make up 90% of our workforce and they are at the heart of the Red Cross mission," said Interim Regional CEO for the Red Cross of Wisconsin, Jill Orton.
She continued to express her gratitude towards the Green Bay Packers, "We're grateful for the Green Bay Packers elevating the power of giving back and for helping us salute our Red Cross volunteers."
