Fans turned away from Freya Skye concert in Milwaukee amid third-party ticket issues
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — Fans were turned away from a Freya Skye concert in downtown Milwaukee Wednesday night after reporting problems with tickets purchased through third-party resale websites.
Skye, a British singer-songwriter who starred in Disney's "Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires," was scheduled to perform at Landmark Credit Union Live.
But outside the venue, CBS 58 saw families and fans being turned away at the entrance. Many of those affected were young girls who had arrived expecting to see the show.
"The closer we got to the ticket windows, the more tears we saw on little girls' faces," one person said on social media.
Fans took to social media Wednesday night reporting problems with tickets purchased through third-party marketplaces, including StubHub.
CBS 58 has not independently confirmed the cause of each ticket issue or whether the tickets involved were fraudulent.
Representatives with Live Nation told CBS 58 that everyone who purchased a ticket through Ticketmaster was admitted to the concert.
CBS 58 reached out to StubHub for additional information but had not received a response as of Wednesday night.
It was not immediately clear how many people were ultimately denied entry or how the affected third-party ticket purchases will be handled.
