MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Despite the chilly temps, hundreds of people took the Polar Plunge on Saturday, March 1.
Plungers came out to Muskego Park to raise money for Special Olympics Wisconsin. They had to pay a minimum of $100 to participate. We're told this fundraiser directly serves thousands of Wisconsin athletes.
"Special Olympics Wisconsin serves more than 14,000 individuals with disabilities in the state of Wisconsin, providing access to athletic competitions, to leadership opportunities, and access to healthcare," said Addie Teeters with Special Olympics Wisconsin.
At last check, Special Olympics Wisconsin has raised more than $57,000. Their goal is to reach $80,000.
