Insulator on power pole near 97th and Burnham failed Saturday night, causing power outage

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- New information has been released regarding a small fire that caused roughly 5,000 customers to lost power in West Allis on Saturday night.

We Energies says an insulator on a power pole near 97th and Burnham failed, causing a live power line to fall to the ground.

The line touching the ground caused the sparking and the fire.

The pole is near the substation but is not in the substation and there was not a transformer fire, We Energies says.

All customers were restored around 10:45 p.m. on Saturday.
