Jewish Food Festival returns to Mequon with traditional pastrami sandwiches, Rugelach and more
MEQUON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Peltz Center for Jewish Life, a division of Lubavitch of Wisconsin, has announced that it will be holding its 5th annual Jewish Food Festival at Rotary Park in Mequon.
The festival, which features traditional Jewish dishes, also offers an educational component with an interactive old-world European Jewish village experience.
On Sunday, Aug. 6 and Monday, Aug. 7, attendees will have the opportunity to taste a variety of Jewish dishes, including pastrami sandwiches, stuffed cabbage, rugelach and babka. The festival also includes workshops and activities such as Hebrew letter writing, Sabbath candle-making and shofar-making demonstrations.
Rabbi Moshe Luchins, organizer of the event, stated in a Thursday, June 22 press release, "We're thrilled to continue the Jewish Food Festival in Mequon and showcase the diverse traditions of Jewish cuisine."
The festival will be open to the public from noon to 7 p.m. on both days. Admission is free.
