MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – A Milwaukee man facing charges for a series of armed robberies on New Year’s Eve appeared in Milwaukee County Court Monday morning.
A judge accepted the defense’s request for a competency exam.
Investigators say Andre Dyson was involved in armed robberies on New Year’s Eve with two other people.
According to a criminal complaint, Dyson ran when someone fired a shotgun.
The two other people, Shannon Nehmer and Charles Barefield, died after they crashed a car into the Kinnickinnic River.
Nehmer was pregnant and her 2-year-old daughter who was also in the car, was killed.
Dyson is due back in court February 11 for a competency hearing.
