FRANKLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Jury deliberations will continue Friday, Dec. 6 in the trial for the Franklin business owner accused of killing two of his employees and burning their bodies.
Matthew Neumann is facing two counts of first degree reckless homicide, as party to a crime with use of a dangerous weapon attached two one of those counts and counts of Hiding a Corpse, as party to a crime.
“It’s a compelling picture and it’s proof that not only did this defendant kill these two men, but that he also burned up their bodies to hide them,” Michael Schindhelm with the Milwaukee Co. District Attorney's Office said in closing arguments Thursday about the evidence presented.
Neumann’s attorney said the prosecutor has failed to prove the charges beyond a reasonable doubt.
“Did he kill these people? And the evidence is zilch on that,” said Michael Steinle.
The jury will return Friday morning.
