Waukesha County Sheriff\'s Department

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A jury found a Waukesha man guilty Tuesday, in the 2022 homicide of his girlfriend, Stephanie Pavlons.

Matthew Pahl was charged with first-degree intentional homicide and hiding a corpse after prosecutors say he killed Pavlons and left her body in a wooded area in Delafield

Construction workers discovered Pavlons' body near Orthopedic Associates of Wisconsin in September of 2022, according to court documents. An autopsy revealed she died on Aug. 23, and the cause of death was undetermined.

The criminal complaint says on that date, Pavlons was last seen alive at a Kwik Trip three miles from where her body was found. Investigators say surveillance cameras at the location show her getting into Pahl's truck. That same morning, both Pahl and Pavlons' cellphones pinged near Orthopedic Associates Wisconsin, where Pahl had an appointment.

The complaint says Pahl arrived at the doctor's office at 9:15 a.m. but didn't check into his appointment until 9:34 a.m.

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for Nov. 11.
