MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Educational Media Foundation filed applications with the FCC to acquire WLDB 93.3 and WLUM-FM 102.1 from Milwaukee Radio Alliance, according to federal records.

B93.3 morning show host Joe Krauss and others at the station have told CBS 58 that their last day on the air at the station is on Friday, Aug. 29.

EMF operates the national K-LOVE and Air1 networks, known for providing nationwide noncommercial Christian programming.

A spokesperson told radio industry publication Radio Ink that EMF plans to bring its Air1 worship format to Milwaukee after the sale closes. Radio Ink also reports that the sale of the two stations is for a combined $4 million.

An EMF representative is quoted in Radio Ink's sister publication RBR+TVBR as saying, "We are excited for the opportunity for K-LOVE Radio to have one of the best signals in Milwaukee and bring our vertical worship format, Air1, to the market for the first time. These signals represent an opportunity for us to reach more listeners in the downtown area as well as areas north of the city."

Applications require FCC approval. Following this reported sale, Milwaukee Radio Alliance would still own Fonz FM, which airs on 1290 AM, as well as Froggy MKW, which airs on 100.3 and 107.3 FM.

Air1's website says the network's vision is, "To be the most trusted source of compelling media, linking people everywhere to the hope of Christ."

CBS 58 has partnered with B93.3 on weekly segments in recent years. The station is also widely known for switching to its celebratory launch into Christmas music each year.

Radio Ink first reported EMF’s intent to launch Air1 in Milwaukee following the transaction.
