MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Restaurants have closed their dining areas, but that's not stopping customers from enjoying a Friday tradition, especially during the Lenten period.
Kegel's Inn is open and serving up fish fries for people who want to enjoy it at home.
As of now, they are only open on Friday and only serving fish along with some other food.
The owner says the turnout today has been fantastic.
"I think I'm a little overwhelmed with the generosity of people," said owner Stephanie Kegel. "I was already brought to tears today...our first customers came in, they not only purchased lunch here, but they purchased a gift certificate for $25 because they know the proceeds go to our employees and they gave us $15 in cash tips for me to pass unto my employees."
Kegel's will be open until 8 p.m. Friday, but they may close sooner if they run out of food.
