KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Kenosha man accused of plotting to kidnap and kill an administrative judge pleaded not guilty Friday, Oct. 17 during a preliminary hearing in Kenosha County Circuit Court.

According to the criminal complaint, 52-year-old Arthur McClurg told a neighbor on Sept. 10 that he planned to dress as an immigration agent to abduct a judge who had denied his Social Security claims. The neighbor later reported the comments to police, leading investigators to search McClurg’s home and vehicle.

Officers say they found 10 firearms, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, fake law enforcement badges, replica grenades, handcuffs, wigs, an ICE vest, plus other items.

Notes recovered from the home allegedly detailed steps to disguise a vehicle.

The complaint also includes text messages prosecutors say show McClurg discussing money transfers and expressing plans to act "cold as ice and heartless."

McClurg’s attorney sought to dismiss two counts, but a judge denied the request. He was in custody at his Oct. 17 preliminary hearing and is scheduled for a judicial pretrial hearing Thursday, Dec. 18.
