MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – CBS 58 is working with Komen Wisconsin to share important and potentially life-saving information every week. Komen Wisconsin Executive Director Nikki Panico visited CBS 58 on Tuesday, Oct. 15 to talk about the importance of getting screened.
Panico answered the following questions:
- Why is it so important to be screened regularly?
- What is Komen Wisconsin doing to help women get their annual screenings?
- Reminders about getting screened
It’s important to talk to your doctor about which screening tests are right for you if you are at a higher risk. Have a mammogram every year starting at age 40, if you are at average risk. Have a clinical breast exam at least every three y ears starting at 20, and every year starting at 40.
