Lakefront Brewery plans to purchase Public Craft Brewing Co. in Kenosha
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee-based Lakefront Brewery is expanding its operations with plans to purchase Public Craft Brewing Co. in Kenosha. Lakefront announced this expansion in a Friday, May 24, press release.
The acquisition of Public Craft Brewing Co. is said to be a part of Lakefront's growth strategy.
The aim is to benefit both hospitality and brewing operations, as Lakefront plans to establish a presence in the Kenosha area, leveraging Public Craft Brewing Co.'s existing reputation and facilities.
"Kenosha is an up-and-coming area with many businesses moving in," said Lakefront Brewery President Russ Klisch in the press release and is also excited about what the move means for the brand's beverage offerings. "Public Brewing makes a nice selection of sour beers which Lakefront doesn't have in its portfolio."
Public Craft Brewing's name and brand will be retained, but Lakefront intends to expand entertainment offerings in the area at the Public Brewing restaurant space. The current staff will be kept on board, and the company plans to continue honoring existing commitments.
