Lakefront Brewery's Maifest offering family-friendly fun with gluten-free focus
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Lakefront Brewery in Milwaukee will host its 2nd annual Maifest on Sunday, May 21, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., celebrating spring and gluten-free products.
Over 20 local vendors, artisans and boutiques will participate, with nine food vendors serving exclusively gluten-free menus. Lakefront, known for the first certified gluten-free beer, will offer beverages from a gluten-free bar, including gluten-free cask beers and potato vodka-based Bloody Marys.
The event will feature a limited number of Maifest-branded tasting glasses, traditional German dancers from S.V.E.V. D'Oberlandler and performances by Pete McDermott of Ladybird and Josh Quinn's "From Sinatra to the 60's."
Lakefront will also host a clearance sale and unveil its renovated patio space, beer garden and overlook deck. The event welcomes well-behaved dogs in outdoor spaces.
Maifest is also set to be kid-friendly, with children having an opportunity to enjoy non-alcoholic beverages such as Lakefront's Golden Maple Root Beer and popsicles, while participating in activities like donning flower May-crowns and getting glitter tattoos.
