Lanes closed in Kenosha County after semi fire

KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- There was a semi fire on Thursday, May 16.

It happened in Kenosha County on I-94 southbound. According to the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department, the semi driver successfully detached the trailer himself to save the cab from the fire.

The sheriff's office says a lot, if not all material that was not on fire was removed to prevent a larger fire.

As of 3:47 p.m., they said the fire is out, but the lanes remain closed for cleanup.

They say the contents of the semi-trailer was powdered soy.
