SHOREWOOD Wis. (CBS 58) – The Shorewood Police Department says there will be more officers at Shorewood High School on Thursday following an online threat.
According to police, a Facebook post was circulating that referenced a shooting at “SHS”. The post was spread throughout the country via social media.
Schools across the nation with the initials “SHS” have also been alerted about the threat.
Shorewood Police do not believe it is a credible or specific threat to Shorewood High School. Classes will be in session Thursday, but students should expect a larger police presence at the school.
Seneca Township High School leaders are also aware of the threat. School officials say they are working with local law enforcement to ensure the safety and security of students and staff.
Since the February 14 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, there has been 12 threats made toward schools in southeastern Wisconsin.
