Lead2Change hosts free art workshop for kids this Thursday at Vibez in Bayshore
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Lead2Change is a career readiness program that helps all students in the Milwaukee area. That help comes in many forms, from peer support, to having a career coach and local internships.
"Students take a deep dive into getting to know themselves and then they research careers to be sure those careers are congruent with who they are as an individual. And then, students get an opportunity to declare a 'career interest,' meaning, 'this is the career I’m interested in exploring' and we find a career-focused internship experience for them," said Dionna Grayson, the executive director at Lead2Change.
The program has about 60 students. This Thursday, you can meet them at Vibez in Bayshore. They'll be working with younger kids, ages 4-10 years old, to use their creativity while making some art.
"The event is called 'Little Brushes, Big Dreams' and we’re partnering with Vibez Creative Art Space. So, our students are going to be there.
To partner with the Littles, they’ll be able to make things like canvases, they’ll do bead work, ceramics and they’ll have paper activities for the little kids," said Grayson.
To join Lead2Change you need to be a junior or senior in high school. They are always looking for new applicants.
