'Let's all be smart:' Aaron Rodgers, AJ Hawk discuss NFL Draft, 2020 season amid COVID-19

GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A lot of people are thinking about football this week with the NFL Draft coming up. Aaron Rodgers just appeared on a podcast with his old Green Bay Packers teammate, AJ Hawk, and he was asked about the possibility of the NFL season starting up on time this year.

Rodgers sounded a little skeptical.

"We have to go from ten or less to 80,000 people," Rodgers said." Y'know, that's a pretty big jump."

Rodgers hit a lot of interesting topics during the podcast. He talked about the people he knows who are facing hardships during the coronavirus pandemic and he said you won't see him doing any video messages from his fancy home about how difficult things are.

"I mean there's real people hurting, so I'm not going to sit here in my privilege and tell people from my ivory tower  to do this or do that. I just think it falls on deaf ears. I will say let's all be smart, let's all be smart about what we're doing and who we're seeing," Rodgers said.

Rodgers said he is interested in this week's NFL Draft. He said he thinks everyone is starved for some kind of sports-related content.
