RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Boy Scouts from across the area are finding a way to help bolster the pantries of local families with the Scouting for Food Drive.
While the Scouts will begin passing out door hangers on Saturday, March 9, food pick-ups will begin on Saturday, March 16 at 9 a.m.
Households can simply fill a bag with non-perishable food, with examples being peanut butter, canned fruits or vegetables, cereal, tuna or soup. They also welcome toiletries and diapers, but cannot accept homemade canned goods, broken or damaged items, glass, or expired items.
Then, the bags will be picked up by the Scouts or can be dropped off at a nearby participating Pick 'n Save or Metro Market in the Feeding America box by Saturday, March 30.
To discuss more details about the drive, Dan Taivalkoski, Director of the Racine County Food Bank and Phil DeHahn, Red Arrow District, Three Harbors Council joined us on Wednesday, March 6.
More information about the program can be found by visiting ThreeHarborsScouting.org.
