MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It’s an event combining the love of beer with a sense of patriotism. WestAllion Brewery held a fundraiser to help homeless veterans tonight.
Admission was free but donations were recommended. The event also had live music and plenty of food. People at the event said it’s something anyone can support.
“You know each one of these people gave their lives, and to come home and not have a place to live...that’s the least we can do for these guys,” said Erik Dorfner of the Westallion Brewing Company.
The non – profit group Milwaukee Homeless Veterans Initiative estimates that 250 Veterans have nowhere to sleep every night in Milwaukee.
