Local group speaking out after girl's death is connected to Shaken Baby Syndrome
Lola's Hope is a Wisconsin 501(c)3 non-profit organization working to prevent SBS/AHT and provide services to impacted families.
Lola was born in April 2011 and is a survivor of Shaken Baby Syndrome. She is currently doing great.
Her family's experience inspired them to turn positive out of negative and soon a Facebook page turned into an incorporated non-profit organization.
Lola's mom, Krysta Bernicky, is the President of Lola's Hope and Gretchen Sloan, survivor Abe's mom from Team Abe, is Vice President. Gretchen's sister Diana Rankin fills our Secretary role and Matthew Berry, father of survivor Caleb, is the current Treasurer.
Our newest board member, David, comes from a background in social work.
Krysta was a live guest Monday on the CBS 58 News at 4:30 p.m.
She spoke about trends and common denominators in cases of SBS and why families need long term support.
