Local organization launches statewide FAFSA completion campaign

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- College Possible Wisconsin has launched a statewide campaign to assist students with their FAFSA applications, in a response to technical issues and delays with the FAFSA application system. The goal is to ensure more area students have access to financial aid.

The campaign includes free, one-on-one support and drop-in hours at CPW headquarters in Milwaukee’s Schlitz Park, located at 1515 N. Rivercenter Drive #105.

Sessions are scheduled for:

  • Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 12 - 3 p.m.
  • Friday, Aug. 9 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Aug. 13 from 12 - 3 p.m.

Virtual help sessions will be held Wednesday, July 31 from 5:30 - 7 p.m. Additional workshops include one at Mount Mary College on Tuesday, July 30, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and another at UW-Milwaukee on Friday, Aug. 30 from 12 - 2 p.m.

Every completed FAFSA application will be eligible for a $25 gift card.

Complementary transportation and snacks will be provided at all in-person sessions. CPW noted in a Tuesday, July 23 press release that students and families are encouraged to contact their staff at [email protected] for scheduling one-on-one support outside of drop-in hours.
