RACINE COUNTY (CBS 58) – A man was arrested Wednesday in Racine County for driving intoxicated and injuring an officer.
According to the sheriff’s department, deputies were called to the Village of Union Grove for a report of a car driving 80 miles per hour through the town. Deputies found the suspect vehicle stopped on State Highway 11. They say the driver was leaning the upper half of his body out of the vehicle.
Authorities say the driver got out of the car and lunged at authorities. While trying to control him, authorities say a deputy was injured and taken to the hospital for treatment. The deputy was later released.
The driver was arrested and taken to the Racine County Jail. He is facing charges of operating while impaired, battery to law enforcement officers and resisting an officer causing harm.
