FOND DU LAC COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Fond du Lac man is facing charges after authorities say he intentionally hit a motorcyclist.

Sixty-seven-year-old Mark Snider is being charged with first degree recklessly endangering safety, use of a dangerous weapon, and second-degree reckless homicide.

The crash happened near 16th and Main in Fond du Lac on Friday, March 28. The 26-year-old motorcyclist was transported to a hospital but died as a result of their injuries. The sheriff's department identified the 26-year-old as Elijah “Eli” Nathaniel Sowin.

According to a criminal complaint, a witness told police that the motorcycle was speeding northbound and passed three to four cars. Once the motorcycle approached a truck, the witness said that the truck swerved, crossed the center line, and tried to block the motorcycle. They told police it seemed like the truck was trying to intentionally hit the motorcycle.  That is when the crash happened, per complaint.

Police also obtained dashcam video that showed the truck moving towards the center line and swerving into the path of the motorcycle, as well as the crash.

When Snider, the driver of the truck, was taken to the police department, he talked about the incident. Police say Snider spontaneously uttered statements about the accident, per complaint.  "He was in the wrong, he was speeding trying to pass me because he thinks he's crotch Rocket Joe. Why don't they know that speed kills?"

Police later asked Snider a hypothetical, if the video would show him purposely swerving. Snider said it was possible, but he did not know. Snider said that he may have swerved a touch and then he took off his mirror and went flying.

A preliminary hearing for Snider is scheduled for Thursday, April 10.
