Man charged with beating, sexually assaulting UW student pleads guilty

MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The man charged with brutally beating and sexually assaulting a UW student in September of 2023 pleaded guilty Thursday, Oct. 17. 

Brandon Thompson pled guilty to first-degree sexual assault causing great bodily harm, first-degree reckless injury, and strangulation and suffocation. 

The woman survived the attack, but with severe injuries. 

A sentencing hearing is set for Feb. 6.
