Man killed in hit and run accident

Milwaukee Police are investigating after a man was killed in a hit and run accident on the city's south side.
Police said that around 12:30 a.m. a 40-year-old man was killed while crossing the street at Cesar Chavez and Mineral.
The driver of the vehicle did not stop after the accident.
Witnesses gave descriptions that led officers to the vehicle.
The 49-year-old driver was taken into custody.

Police believe that he was intoxicated. It isn't the first time tragedy has happened at that intersection. In May a 6-year-old autistic boy was hit and killed by a school bus driver.
