MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A shock for neighbors Friday night, after police say a 60-year-old man was shot and killed during a robbery at an apartment building on north 76th street.
Dearta Daniels was just a few floors up when it happened.
"Everybody was having a good time, just chilling and next thing you know, somebody said somebody just got shot on the first floor. I was like wow, we were just on the first floor," said Daniels.
Police got on scene around 9:30, and spent hours looking for answers.
Neighbors believe the victim was a delivery driver from a local restaurant.
"It wasn't our community that did it. It was some people that's not from around here, said neighbor Demetrius Johnson. "It just broke my heart because it's so close to home."
Neighbors also say there are not very many restaurants that deliver in the area because of robberies in the past.
"It's sad. Crime is just bad. People got to come together and quit all this nonsense," said neighbor Darick Mcway.
"I hope they find whoever did this. That man didn't deserve it. He was just minding his own business doing what he normally do," said Daniels.
Police are still looking for the shooter. The incident is still under investigation.
