Man shot multiple times at Milwaukee barbershop days after carjacking, 2 charged
Wisconsin Court System MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Two Milwaukee men are charged in connection with a Christmas Eve shooting at a barbershop and a carjacking three days earlier involving the same victim, according to a criminal complaint.
The victim suffered injuries to his thighs, arm and face.
Officials say 21-year-old Anthony Gatlin and 20-year-old Harleem Trammell each face charges of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, armed carjacking and armed robbery.
The victim told police he met someone he knew as "Monti" on Sunday, Dec. 21 near 21st and Juneau when Monti and two men got in his car and pointed guns at him. They demanded money and drove him to his house, per the complaint, and locked him inside as the three left with his running car.
Three days later, the victim went to a barbershop near 53rd and Center, telling police that he saw Monti inside, who he believed said, "That's him." He left and was shot multiple times.
Police identified and arrested a woman on Jan. 3 believed to be Monti. Officers found a rifle that matched shell casings from the barbershop.
The woman's mother identified her cousin as Gatlin, according to the complaint. Police linked Trammell through fingerprints at the barbershop.
Both men also face robbery charges in a separate Christmas Eve crime at Mayfair Mall, where they are accused of beating a JD Sports employee and stealing a pendant. According to a criminal complaint, Trammell admitted during a police interview that he threw a punch at the victim and took the pendant.
