Man shot near 50th and Congress as part of ongoing dispute

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 27-year-old man is recovering after being shot near 50th and Congress.

The Milwaukee Police Department was called to the area around 5:40 p.m. on Monday.

The victim, along with several other people confronted another person regarding an ongoing dispute. As the dispute escalated, the victim and his friends began to drive away in a car. The suspect fired multiple gunshots into the victim’s car. The victim, a 27-year-old male, was shot.

The driver of the victim’s car lost control of the vehicle and collided with two other vehicles at the intersection of Sherman and Hampton. There were no injuries from the accident.

The victim was then taken to a local hospital by a friend.

He is being treated for what is believed to be a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
