Man who killed Madison man in 2019 attack sentenced to life in mental health institution

CBS 58 GREENFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A man who killed a person and then was let out of custody to live in a group home, is now sentenced to life in a mental health institution.
Amando Lang killed a Madison man, Ben Christianson, in a brutal and random attack in 2019.
He landed back in court last year after he was found living at a non-secured group home in Greenfield after being released by mistake.
In a court hearing today, a judge found Lang not guilty for the homicide by mental disease or defect and order Lang to be committed to the Department of Health Services custody for life.
