Marcus Theatres bringing back old favorites with retro series offerings

(CBS 58) -- With summer coming to an end, Marcus Theatres is bringing back some old favorites to the big screen. 

“LORD OF THE RINGS” RETRO SERIES:

Return to Middle-earth with the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. August 12, 13 and 15: “The Fellowship of the Ring” — Rated PG 13

A meek Hobbit from the Shire and eight companions set out on a journey to destroy the powerful One Ring and save Middle-earth from the Dark Lord Sauron.

August 19, 20 and 22: “The Two Towers” — Rated PG 13

While Frodo and Sam edge closer to Mordor with the help of the shifty Gollum, the divided fellowship makes a stand against Sauron’s new ally, Saruman, and his hordes of Isengard.

August 26, 27 and 29: “The Return of the King” — Rated PG 13

Gandalf and Aragorn lead the World of Men against Sauron’s army to draw his gaze from Frodo and Sam as they approach Mount Doom with the One Ring.

Matchmaker Dolly Levi travels to Yonkers to find a partner for “half-a-millionaire” Horace Vandergelder, convincing Horace’s family and his employees to travel to New York City along the way.
