Packers legends Clay Matthews, Josh Jacobs share NFL Draft Experience
GREEN BAY Wis. (CBS 58) -- Two Packers legends shared their NFL Draft Day memories and offered advice to future players during an event near Lambeau Field.
Former Packer Clay Matthews and Green Bay running back Josh Jacobs celebrated day one of the draft by speaking to local military families.
The event at Epic Events in Ashwaubenon was in partnership with USAA, Official Salute to Service Partner of NFL.
Both participated in a panel discussion about perspectives on playing in Green Bay and experiences of growing up in military families.
Matthews and Jacobs also offered their advice to players.
"I just tell them, man, enjoy it," Jacobs said. "Take it in. It's a place where you can feel at home. It's peaceful."
Matthews said, "I just think about the path these young gentlemen are on and what they're about to endure and I hope they maximize their opportunity."
It marked Matthews' first time back in Green Bay since he was inducted into the Hall of Fame last year. The former linebacker said he was welcomed back in true Wisconsin form, with cheese curds and a six-pack of Spotted Cow.
