MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Hair and makeup designs, from functional to fabulous, were on display at MATC today.
And it was all created by cosmetology students at the technical college.
This was a runway fashion show called 'The Edge' -- a beauty showcase'.
It's the final project for students at the end of their term.
The young designers created the makeup, nail and hairstyles and they worked in groups with different themes, from 'beach wedding' to 'zodiac' to 'spooky mermaid'.
As you can tell by those themes, the students were encouraged to be creative and use their imagination.
"This is a big deal, kind of just giving them the opportunity to just showcase what they've learned, give them a fun ending and just really get them ready for the real work experience," said MATC Cosmetology instructor Megan Jackson.
"My favorite part really was just being able to paint someone's full body. Like I've always wanted to do it and just being able to create my own fairy was so much fun," said Queen Johnson, who graduated from MATC in May.
Graduates from the MATC program are eligible to become licensed cosmetologists.
