MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Union members of the Milwaukee County Transit System took their call for a new contract directly to County Executive Chris Abele Friday night.
Abele was at a private event at a home on the east side, when the union members began picketing outside the home.
The union members have been working without a contract for more than a year.
"We came here because Chris Abele doesn't want to bargain with us face to face," Donnell Shorter said. "We have to find him, seek him out wherever we can, and this happened to be a fundraiser here we knew he would be at, so we came here to deliver the petitions."
The union says it's demanding a contract that includes better healthcare, pay, and increased security measures for bus drivers.
