Milwaukee County sheriff's public safety officer shot and killed, 2 people arrested

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Police Department reported to CBS 58 on Monday, May 11 that a 25-year-old and a 29-year-old are in custody regarding the shooting that left Dennis Johnson dead on Friday, May 8.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 56-year-old Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office public safety officer is dead following a shooting on Milwaukee's north side Friday, May 8.
Police say after 5 p.m. in the area of N. Teutonia and W. Chambers, a suspect fired several bullets into a vehicle, killing the 56-year-old.
Family members and MCSO officials have identified him as Dennis Johnson.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office confirms Johnson was a Public Safety Officer with the law enforcement agency.
In a statement, Sheriff Denita Ball reacted to the shooting, saying in part "Every senseless killing is a tragedy. However, because PSO Johnson was a member of our family, this one hit home. The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating this crime, and the MCSO is fully cooperating," said Ball.
"We offer sincere condolences to the loved ones, and colleagues of PSO Johnson. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him."
