MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County medical examiner is working to ID the skeletal remains of an adult male found inside a building near 2nd and Burleigh.

The ME says the male was wearing an American CIE large dark coat with orange lining, white shirt with the Pfizer logo, black pants and five rings.

The remains were found on Aug. 10, according to the medical examiner.

"Just hoping that someone may have some idea of a loved one that they may not have seen for a little while," said Amy Michalak, investigator with the medical examiner's office. "We can't tell exactly how long this person's been there."

Michalak is the lead forensic investigator at the medical examiner's office. She says her office was called to this building after a YouTuber discovered a body while filming a video.

"It was mostly skeletonized, obviously still had clothing on but for the most part, skeletonized," Michalak said.

Officials believe the body belongs to an African American man and while mostly skeletal, there was some remaining tissue.

"We were able to see some partial tattoos," Michalak said. "One arm said 'KING,' so king in letters on the left forearm, and on the right it said 'SAVA" is what we think we could make out."

Neighbors are calling on the city to take action toward investing in vacant buildings like this one.

"We need to take a deeper look at what these buildings can be used for that can benefit our community," said neighbor Della Reese Williams.

Right now, police are checking their databases to see if any missing person reports are a match.
