MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Anyone in Menomonee Falls could be the target of a random act of kindness Wednesday, Feb. 5.
A group called "Leadership Menomonee Falls" launched the effort with a ribbon-cutting at Village Hall Wednesday.
Members wearing special T-shirts planned to pass out gift cards from local businesses, hand out coloring books to kids and more.
"I mean if it's something as simple as buying coffee for someone in the Starbucks line, no act of kindness is too small. That's really the message that we want to carry forward today," said Courtney Hendricks, HR Manager of Cousins Subs.
Cousins Subs is one of the businesses helping out with free sub coupons. The plan was to perform the random acts of kindness all day long.
