MillerCoors releases new statement on tariffs that says job loss is likely
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- MillerCoors has released a new statement now that President Trump has signed an order enforcing tariffs on aluminum and steel. The tariffs signed on Thursday would be 10 percent on aluminum and 25 percent on steel. The President expects the tariffs to go into effect in 15 days.
Governor Walker said that some Wisconsin companies could get exemptions from the tariffs. MillerCoors says it needs one of those exemptions in order to not rise prices or lose jobs.
In their statement, MillerCoors said, "Without the exclusion, this tariff flies in the face of the administration's commitment to growing our economy as it will mean higher prices for consumers and, likely, the loss of jobs."
The full statement can be read in three tweets below.
