MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A big investment for youth sports has been made in Milwaukee.
Former Bucks star Pat Connaughton and his nonprofit foundation have partnered with the Milwaukee Academy of Science. On Tuesday, they unveiled a brand-new gym floor for the school.
School leaders mentioned that the new space presents lots of opportunities for the city. They hope it will continue to bolster education and community connection in the area.
"We're going to see kids in this room playing games, we're gonna see kids here learning how to be a good teammate, we're going to see our kid learn how to be leaders and how to work together," said Bill Reitman, board chair, Milwaukee Academy of Science.
While the gym is open for business for the students, school leaders see the new space as an exciting opportunity to work with the city as well.
The new gym offers a new option for hosting public events in Milwaukee.
