Ballet Beat program dances across the Milwaukee area đź©°
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --Â Milwaukee Ballet's annual program, Ballet Beat, is on the cusp of beginning a four-week series of free performances, workshops and activities throughout the Milwaukee area.
The four-week program begins Friday, July 14 at Bastille Day West at 5811 W. Vliet St. and Saturday, July 15 at Bastille Day Downtown at 825 N. Jefferson St.
Ballet Beat will continue into Sunday Family Fun Day on Sunday, July 16 at the Summerfest grounds.
Washington Park Wednesdays at 4599 W. Lloyd St. will be next on Wednesday, July 19, followed by a St. Ann Indaba Bandshell performance on Wednesday, July 26.
The Death’s Door Dance Festival in Door County will be next on July 29, and another Summerfest Family Fun Day on Aug. 6.
Key performers are scheduled to include Company Artists Alyssa Schilke and Eric Figueredo, joined by five dancers from the Milwaukee Ballet II Second Company and students from Milwaukee Ballet School and Academy’s Pre-Professional Program. Special guest artists will also participate.
A press release issued on Tuesday, July 11 noted that Ballet Beat is an outreach program that is a critical part of the Milwaukee Ballet's community engagement, making ballet accessible to thousands of students and families each year.
