Milwaukee café opens with the goal of serving adults as well as children
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Families with young children now have a café experience in Milwaukee with the opening of Little Village Play Café.
According to a press release issued on Wednesday, March 8, owner and founder Abi Gilman created the café to provide a unique space where parents can relax while their children can play and explore.
The facility also was designed for caregivers who are looking for a space to socialize their children with peers, grandparents who are searching for a place for quality time with their grandchildren and hosts who are planning baby showers or even birthday parties.
The café aims to provide an environment where children can learn and grow with other children while their caregivers enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, connect with other parents, work quietly, or just take a deep breath.
Gilman, a mother of three young children, said she had a hard time finding places in the community where her children could play and explore while she could enjoy a peaceful moment or connect with a friend. She decided to open The Little Village to provide a haven for families with young children.
The menu is decorated with items for visitors of all ages, with fun kid-friendly foods as well as beer and wine for adults.
Little Village Play Café is open from Wednesday through Sunday starting at 8 a.m.. Admission to the Open Play Space is $10 per child, with discounts offered for siblings and in-class packages. The café is an allergen-friendly facility, offering a safe and welcoming space for all.
In the future, the café plans to roll out educational classes and family workshops.
