Chilly Election Day, then wintry mix and showers return
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Cities around the state, including Milwaukee, are trying to decide how to spend federal coronavirus relief funds.
A discussion took place during a finance and personnel meeting Wednesday morning, May 19.
City officials are working with the treasury department to get clarity on what the money can and can't be used for.
"Because money is fungible, you could make some expenditures toward street lighting under infrastructure even though it's not under the water/sewer broadband, if the further guidance expands our knowledge on what sort of infrastructure we can apply it to," said Alderman Scott Spiker.
City leaders say clarification from the treasury department could come in 60 days.
