Milwaukee County Sheriff's squad car hit on US-45

GREENFIELD -- The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office reports two of its deputies were injured when their squad car was struck on the US-45 off-ramp at Beloit Rd. The squad car was stopped with its emergency lights on to provide a traffic warning of a crash ahead.

Both deputies were treated for non-life threatening injuries at a local hospital. Greenfield police are investigating the crash.

In their release, The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office reminds motorists Wisconsin's Move Over Law requires drivers to provide a safety zone for stoped law enforcement, emergency and maintenance vehicles. The sheriff's office says if it is unsafe to move over, drivers must slow down to at least 40 mph.
