MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office says Brown Deer Police Officer Devon Kraemer will not be retried.
Kraemer was on trial for aggravated battery at the end of February. The jury in the Kraemer trial could not reach a verdict after three days of deliberation. They were dismissed and the judge declared a mistrial.
Kramer shot Manuel Burnley Jr. in the back during an arrest in March 2016 after he was escorted off of a Milwaukee County Transit bus for unruly behavior. Kraemer said she shot Burnley because she feared for her life when he resisted arrest. Burnley Jr. said he wasn't resisting.
The Brown Deer Police Department released the following statement in regards to the DA's decision.
