Meet CBS 58’s Pet of the Week: Gravy
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Monday, Oct. 10, is the first day of Fire Prevention Week in Milwaukee.
Local leaders gathered at the Milwaukee fire education center, Survive Alive House, with 2nd graders from A.E. Burdick Elementary School to highlight how to be safe in preventing fires.
Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson was there, encouraging students to warn their parents and friends about fires and how they start.
"When you go home today, you can teach your family what you learned here today so that everyone can be fire safe," said Mayor Johnson.
Milwaukee Fire Department Chief Aaron Lipski says this is the 100th anniversary of Fire Prevention Week across the country.
He says while fire trucks and water are important, the most important piece of equipment we all have is our knowledge of fire safety.
