A boost in temperatures despite the lack of sunshine
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – A Milwaukee man died Saturday from injuries he sustained during an attack in February.
According to court documents, the victim, Kenneth Deramus, was attacked outside his girlfriend’s home on February 18.
Authorities say the suspect, Dorian Ramsey, was charged with aggravated battery but amended charges will be sought against him.
A criminal complaint states Deramus’ girlfriend woke up to a car horn blaring and Deramus yelling. She saw Deramus sitting in a car and Ramsey standing nearby. Deramus then reportedly yelled that Ramsey needs to leave him alone. The girlfriend went downstairs to help but saw Ramsey punch Deramus. She then went to call police and looked outside again to see Ramsey stomping on Deramus’ head.
Police responded to the scene and Deramus was taken to the hospital. Authorities went to speak with Deramus, but he was unconscious. Court documents state Deramus suffered facial fractures, a broken nose and cranial brain bleeding. He died April 7 from his injuries.
Milwaukee Police say Deramus’ death will be counted as a homicide.
