WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- Whose side are you on? USA soccer takes on Bosnia and Herzegovina Wednesday night.

Esmir Bajraktarevic is the opponent but has ties to Wisconsin.

The Appleton native, nicknamed the Milwaukee Messi, got his start with the SC Wave program right here in Southeast Wisconsin before going to the MLS and now the Netherlands.

Ahead of his World Cup match against the U.S., his former coach, Shan Amini, shares what a young Esmir was like.

"Wasn't just that he could juggle and he could dribble and he could shoot," said Amini, president of SC Wave and Milwaukee Wave. "He could see the field. He could lay out passes at a very, very young age. You want your player to play in college if they can, or at least be a great high school player, but then to get to that professional level and play in Europe, and now to see him in the World Cup for the matchup against the United States -- just exciting, and I'm hoping he scores a couple goals but we score six."
